Sesamin: A secret weapon against fat

Recently, Sesamin has become extremely popular amongst products for weight loss and overall health.  Sesamin is a lignan found in sesame seed oil which has the ability to help you lose weight, improve lipid profiles and is also an antioxidant.  It was initially introduced by an innovative company called Avant Labs in 2003 called Sesathin.  As popularity for the product grew from the bodybuilding community and into mainstream, many other manufacturers started selling their version of sesamin.  Sales have skyrocketed in 2006 for Sesamin, particularly Scivation Sesamin.  Scivation Sesamin is one of our top sellers in this category, but lets not forget about Sesathin, which was the first Sesamin product on the market.  Both are very good quality products and should yield similar results.  Sesamin works by increasing oxidation of free fatty acids (FFAs) through its effects on fat-storage and fat-releasing genes.  This extra FFA oxidation occurs regardless of caloric intake, making sesamin an excellent product to use when trying to minimize fat gain.  Sesamin allows both the liver and skeletal muscles to release more FFAs into the blood stream where they can be used as fuel.   A lot of people are also stacking it with CLA, for a synergestic effect and further fat loss.  This would be a great stack to help inhibit fat storage from the overeating that generally occurs during the holidays.
